Here's an outfit I wore when I was in Monterey Bay a few weeks ago, it was wonderfully cold up there- so I was able to pull out some fall clothes! My Aunt gave me this jacket that she used to wear when she was younger. I love it, it has become my new favorite jacket.
School begins tomorrow, and as much as I'd like summer to continue.. I am also excited for starting a new year. I love the feeling of being organized and started new classes. That gets old after about a week though, heh. This fire and smoke over here is making it too hot and unbearable to even think about school work..

I recommend it if you're into fashion and if you're a high school student in the area.. We had to design our own collections at the end of the week, and here is mine. My theme was 'nudity'.. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to even finish five designs, but it's okay I guess.

Today some friends and I went down to Venice beach. It was nice walking around and seeing all the interesting little booth table things.. there are so many really cool rings down there! There were tables selling things like Harry Potter wands, MJ shirts, and tribal mask/table/stuff. I love the atmosphere, everyone is happy, there's music playing and a man walking around on stilts with a painted face and dressed kind of like the girl in the Fever Ray video 'When I grow up'. The beach was also very fun too, it was a little cloudy, and the waves were violent.. but it's fun to ride with them and just float around out there. I wish I could have taken some photos to share with you, but I didn't. Next time!

I enjoy the pink underwear pin I received from a friend who found it in the trashcan.. Today, Amelia came over and we made a Nutella cake (maybe in celebration that summer school ends tomorrow)! Mom's old maxi dress worn shorter, Colonial Madness heels, vintage belt (underneath), UO woven belt.
My mom gave me this dress because.. well it basically looks like a sac if you don't wear it like this. I don't even
know why she owns it in the first place.
I put a belt around it and then pulled it up so it draped over the belt, hiding the belt, creating two layers.
Then I put another larger belt over to give it some shape. I am quite pleased with it. The dress also has a nice
dark floral leafy pattern which I like as well. It would look nice in the fall with black tights and a coat.
I'm starting to go back into my fall clothing phase. I want to wear coats and jackets, even when August hasn't
begun yet. hah. Summer school ends.. next week! YES!
Health class has been interesting.. I just finished a project on genital warts. Lovely, isn't it? I could barely do it.
You don't know how gross these things are until you actually look them up. Don't try it.

Some pictures from yesterday.. still haven't found my camera so I was forced to take photobooth pictures, again. Bad quality, sorry. I purchased this vintage ring at a little antique store with a LOT of jewelry. I've been wearing it everyday (: haha. A friend of mine, (who helped me pay for the ring, since I was broke) also gave me this scorpio pin. I think it goes nicely on this velvet blazer, which was only a dollar. What a find.

The AT&T guy just fixed the internet (I was internet free for three days). It's amazing how bored I am without the internet, telephone, and television. However I did go for a nice walk yesterday, despite the ten thousand degree weather.

I'm thinking about taking some yoga classes..

I then realized why I wanted the tank, I wanted a dalmation. Of course, I won't get one.. so the composition tank will have to do for now. Heheh.
School's out! Today was my last day of school and it was only two hours, finishing my last final, French. I'm very excited for summer, even though summer school begins in four days. My summer this year will be filled with summer school, art center classes, and horseback riding. The weather is warmer now, it finally feels like summer. Today was the official start of summer, for me at least. Stupid Amelia got out of school last week.
I'm ready for an adventure, let's go somewhere!

I look absolutely gross in this picture, but ITS DEVENDRAAAAA.
Today, Amelia and I went to Third Street to see an intimate performance of Bat for Lashes at a 'Neighborhood Social' for Lucky Brand Jeans. Lucky Brand also had someone screenprinting free totes for everyone and jean painting. We RSVPed online and they only allowed in about 100 people. I'm so glad we got in!! Bat for Lashes was really good, I always love the way she dresses and her makeup. She's so beautiful and she sounds good live. Before her performance, they passed out free drinks, mini hamburgers, onion rings, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. It was very pleasant. After her performance, on the way out, we saw DEVENDRA BANHART. He was there to see Natasha Khan. We hugged him and took a picture, I was hyperventilating!! Gaaaaaaaaaaah. LOVELOVELOVE.
Hehehheh.
Anyways, I like third street, there's a lot of street performers.. they make me smile. Especially these two guys, one with an accordian and the other with a ukulele.

I've gotten into horseback riding again, I now have lessons every Monday and Friday. It feels so good and relaxing. It was windy today. I rode Duncan. I fell off and got a face full of dirt.
A horse over at the stable next to us was freaking out and then Duncan got scared and jumped a little, I lost balance and boom. I fell slowly and knew I was going to, but what can I do?
Then I was shaking on the ground covered in sand and dirt. When I got up, everything turned white and I couldn't hear. I was so scared and I couldn't walk. After sitting for a few minutes brushing off dirt, a few bruises and a swollen lip, I got back on Duncan and continued riding. I love the feel of going over a jump, and cantering. You should try it sometime. Totally relaxes me, even though afterwards I'm sweaty, I smell like horse, and slightly dusty, it's all good. (:

Choose Chinatown

Today, Amelia and I got up early to go get breakfast and then take the metro..somewhere. After oatmeal at Heirloom Bakery, we took the metro to Olvera Street and walked around a bit. I've never been there, believe it or not, so it was pretty fun. Everything was very adorable and very colorful. After Olvera Street, it was still early so we decided to go to Chinatown and visit the Cheap Monday store again. While we were there, we found another store we didn't notice before, Welcome Hunters. Let me tell you, this place was freaking incredible. I can't even describe. All the installations were skulls, or some sort of head with nails in it, and the shapes and just EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. One of my favorite designers there was Daniel Palillo, he had a lot of oversized shirts and cut-out holes and shapes. After seeing the melted hole t-shirt (which cost about 200 dollars) Amelia and I were inspired and thought about doing it ourselves. It's pretty simple. After Chinatown we headed off to Target to get some extra large t-shirts so we could begin our d.i.y.. I'll have pictures and a tutorial or something up soon.

Have a nice three day weekend everyone? After being sick on Thursday and Friday, my weekend ended up being five days long. Heheh. The Aardvarks in oldtown is really cool, lots of sequined dresses and leather mini skirts. I got an old BCBG reddish colored leather skirt for 10 dollars! I also purchased a white embroidered shirt for another 10 dollars.

During my sick days, all I did was watch 'That 70's Show'. It's so great. Hyde is my favorite character.

It's friday! This was a nice week. The weather was perfectly warm.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to do on this Friday afternoon.. so i went out and bought the weirdest fruit I saw.
It's called the 'kiwano horned melon'. It'll be interesting to eat.. though I don't know how I'm going to eat it.

Wearing my new American Apparel tri-blend halter romper.. looove it, especially with Amelia's acid wash denim jacket.
It was Amelia's birthday, and we went to the Camarillo and the beach. The Betsy Johnson store was freeaking adorable, I'd like to have every dress in there, please.
We also managed to find some really disgusting cheez-it flavored lip balm.. SO GROSS.

Yesterday Amelia and I went to the salvation army in search of fur coats and denim shirts.. no luck. However I did find this pastel pink/cream pleated skirt, sweater, and a giraffe bag (that is weirdly similar to my elephant wallet. hah) We also discovered that the Aardvarks in old town is now open ;]. Fur coats and leather jackets, unfortunately our time was limited.
We also saw these two girls with short hair, boots, and sweaters, they were so perfect! Haha they must have thought we were creepy since we kept staring at them.. but they were just tooooo cute. We also saw this guy on the metro with the most amazing studded leather jacket, it was red and green in some parts and the collar was studded. He was kind of weird though, his eyes twitched weirdly and he constantly had this little grin on his face.

So, my mom has been in China for the past month and she took the camera with her, so no outfit posts until next friday :l

(p.s. Why does Rodarte send Tavi their really cool ripped/shredded tights and sweater? I would like some too please ;])

Last weekend, Amelia and I went to Chinatown to go see the popup Cheap Monday store. On the way we couldn't find the 'street' (of course) which ended up being a little alley way through a plaza.. Even though it was quite small, it was still amazing. My favorites, this huge black hooded batwing sweatshirt with geometric shapes and this tanktop that just screams pure awesomeness. Unfortunately I did not have enough money to get either.. but I did purchase a gold crouching jaguar ring. (:
